Special Little Bags

I had a sweet friend who was in her 80s who passed away a couple of months ago. I visited her every week for a long time and I loved her.

We had a lot of things in common-we both loved being in nature and we both loved fabric and sewing. She had quite a fabric stash, and some of the fabric in her stash was her mother’s and was over 50 years old.

Her daughters asked me to sew the fabric into bags and so I will be working on doing that off and on until Christmas. I got one batch done and I think it’s a pretty neat thing to do with her fabric.

A Maxi Skirt And A Purse

I haven’t made any clothes for awhile, but I decided to use the knit fabric I’ve had lying around and make a skirt. I used my maxi skirt pattern that’s in my Etsy shop.

I’ve also been making more bags! I made a Luisa Crossbody bag by Sotak Handmade and I really dig it.

I shipped this one to its owner today, and I have another almost finished to send out too.

Vera Slouch Bag

I’ve made a couple purses. From another Sotak pattern of course. They are fun and come together pretty quickly.

I used quilting cotton for these, but I’m going to use home decor fabric for my next ones so they have a little more weight.

Tote Bags

I have been making some tote bags to put in my shop. They are so satisfying-easy to make but very versatile. I used a pattern from Sotak Patterns. I am slowly collecting her patterns one by one because they are all so great.

Bag Making Fun

I bought a Craftsy class taught by Svetlana Sotak with some zippered pouch patterns. I loved it so much that I bought a couple of her other patterns too and I’ve been having fun sewing bags.

I have been slowly adding them to my Etsy shop and I plan to make more styles and kinds. Here are some pictures of a few of the ones I’ve made so far.
